Alex Petit is a senior associate with Jason J. Joy & Associates, PLLC, he joined the firm in 2021 after graduating from Tulane University Law School. A native of Dallas, TX, he has already made a significant impact in his few short years of practice, recovering millions of dollars for injured clients across the country. His dedication, extensive knowledge, and commitment to justice make him a valuable asset to the firm and fierce advocate for those who have been wrongfully injured.
Alex’s passion for representing injured individuals began during his summers as a law clerk while attending Tulane. Known for its top-ranked sports law program, Tulane allowed Alex to combine his love for sports and entertainment with his legal education. He earned his Juris Doctor, with a certificate in Sports Law, and served on the board of the Tulane Pro Basketball Negotiation Competition, now the premier sports negotiation competition in the country. Alex also spent much of his free time in law school providing pro bono legal services to up and coming artists and creators in the New Orleans community.
Alex is primarily involved in the firm’s growing complex litigation dockets, with a specific focus on litigating defective products and medical devices. He also has extensive experience in contract disputes, insurance coverage litigation, as well as other subsets of personal injury law such as medical malpractice and slip & falls cases.
Prior to law school Alex graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. Still an avid fan, you can find him cheering for the Horns every Saturday in the fall.
